LSSD September 29th Orange Shirt Day The annual LSSD September 29th Orange Shirt Day opens the door to create meaningful discussion about the effects of Residential Schools and the legacy they have left behind affecting Indigenous peoples and Canada. This is a day for Residential School survivors to be reaffirmed that they and their stories matter, and so do those inter generational families that have been affected by Residential Schools. The motto Every Child Matters, is to ensure that all children are treated fairly and respectfully, and can go to school in a safe, caring and accepting environment. Today we wear Orange to honour Residential School Survivors and to honour all children in our communities.
